Stationery Distribution - Satirde

Building on our success from the school in Walke, Anandi Foundation conducted a similar stationary distribution camp for a Zilla parishad school in the Satirde village, Raigad.

Anandi Foundation partnered with the local Village Satirde Primary School to organize a one-day stationery distribution camp for 20–30 students in standards 1 through 4. The goal was to address a recurring challenge: many children arrived each term with only a couple of worn-out notebooks or had to share pencils and erasers, which often disrupted classroom flow and hindered their ability to complete assignments on time.

Preparation and Distribution

Working closely with school staff, we scheduled the camp at the start of the term to maximize its impact. Foundation volunteers arrived early to set up tables in the school courtyard, organizing kits by grade level to streamline distribution. Each kit included:

  • Three 200-page notebooks for daily classwork
  • Three 100-page notebooks for homework and practice
  • A compact art kit with five sketch pens, a set of watercolors and a brush, and drawing sheets
  • Basic stationery essentials: HB pencils, a quality eraser, a handheld sharpener, and a ruler

Teachers verified student lists beforehand, ensuring every registered child received a kit. As students lined up by grade, kits were distributed and volunteers demonstrated how to use each item properly—such as sharpening pencils safely and storing art supplies to prevent damage.

Classroom Impact

Following the distribution, teachers reported immediate improvements in lesson continuity. Previously, teachers would pause instruction to share limited supplies or replace broken pencils; with each child fully equipped, lessons proceeded without interruption. Students took pride in their new notebooks, writing more legibly and taking extra care to keep pages neat. In art sessions, the provided sketch pens and watercolors encouraged creative exercises previously curtailed by a lack of materials.

Community Feedback

Parents welcomed the initiative, noting that purchasing supplies mid-year was a financial strain. With reliable stationery on hand, families could reallocate limited resources toward school uniforms and books. The school principal highlighted that giving children the tools they need from day one reduces absenteeism and improves engagement, as students feel prepared and valued.

By efficiently managing logistics, collaborating with school staff, and providing practical training on kit use, Anandi Foundation’s stationery camp in Satirde village ensured that these young learners could participate fully in their education, setting a solid foundation for academic success throughout the term.
