Blood Collection Camp

In April 2025, Anandi Foundation joined forces with the Fortis Hospital, Mulund to organize a well-publicized health checkup and blood collection camp in Mulund city, attracting over 200 community members. The Foundation managed logistics—coordinating volunteers, setting up registration and donation bays, and ensuring an ample supply of sterile kits and refreshments—while Fortis Hospital’s phlebotomists and doctors oversaw donor screening and safe blood draws.

Approximately 150 units of blood were collected, surpassing the hospital’s target and directly aiding critical surgeries and emergency care. Notably, the majority of participants were first-time donors, reflecting the camp’s success in engaging new supporters. Post-donation surveys highlighted donors’ appreciation for the streamlined process, clear communication, and attentive post-donation care.

Building on this achievement, Anandi Foundation intends to conduct similar blood drives across additional neighborhoods, launch educational outreach in schools and colleges to cultivate future donors, and deploy a mobile donation unit to reach underserved areas. These efforts aim to sustain a robust, voluntary blood supply for patients’ healthcare needs.
